The Pokrov Foundation is a Bulgarian non-profit organization, established in 1994. Its goal is to serve the mission of the Orthodox Church in Bulgaria, to reveal the authentic image of Orthodoxy as living and active faith and to overcome the prejudices in the perception of Christianity. The Foundation develops various social and educational programmes, based on the Orthodox understanding about the renewal of the person.

The foundation works for the formation of Christian Orthodox worldview and for the promotion of the understanding of Christian community among the faithful in Bulgaria.

It strives to restore the public trust towards the Orthodox Church, supports its mission, especially in the fields of social diakonia and education.

An integral part of our mission is the transformation of the Christian principle of “loving thy neighbour” into a social norm of behaviour.
